Program GoalsFor most girls, the active recruiting period begins in the summer of their junior year. However, colleges coaches begin looking at players in their freshman and sophomore years of high school. Grades, talent and attitude are key focus areas. - Scholastic readiness: we focus on scholastic achievement to ensure girls enter high school with the necessary focus on achievement. The goal of our Lady Lightning Gold Futures team is to prepare girls for the college recruiting process and as a stepping stone to our Team Miken program. To accomplish this, we focus on: - Talent readiness: we teach skills based on the current techniques/method being used in major college softball. We believe strongly in playing the best competition in the country. - Attitude: team work, work ethic, drive, respect, competitiveness are key skills promoted throughout the LLG organization. To understand the focus of our program, read what Coach Mike Candrea (USA Softball and Univ. of Arizona) wrote about the difference between Playing vs. Competing.
